CLASSIC CLUES AT CURRAGH: The Listed Anne Brewster Memorial Loughbrown Stakes at 3.50 sees the unbeaten Nephrite put his 2000 credentials on the line. SHAMROCK forecasts a big day for Team O’Brien.
The O’Brien stable have really hit the new season running unlike some other classic winning trainers – notably Sir Michael Stoute.
Nephrite bids to extend his unbeaten sequence to three and boost his own 2000 credentials for which he is around 20 on BETDAQ behind stablemate Camelot who trades at around 2/1.
Nephrite was impressive when making a winning debut here in September drawing clear to win by four lengths.
He was equally as impressive when beating the odds-on Born To Sea at Leopardstown in a Group 3 at the end of October and Nephrite may not be as far behind Camelot as the betting suggests.
1.59 on BETDAQ is better odds than I had hoped for (expecting around 1.30) so I am quite happy to nap him today at this price.
It’s hard to see O’Brien not completing a big race double through Excelebration who makes his debut for the yard in the Gladness Stakes at 4.20.
