RATTAN: Shamrock’s Saturday nap (won 5/6) romped home by 20 lengths at Tramore. Sunday’s selections come from Dundalk.
A busy afternoon with Irish racing from Dundalk and Tramore. There are eight races on the Dundalk card and the best bet could come in the opener.
Colour Of Love is consistent at this level and has winning form on the all-weather surface here. She also comes into the race in much better form than her rvials and is preferred to chief market rival Ahally who hasn’t really progressed since winning her maiden here.
In the 3.10 Wexford Opera might be worth another chance. The Jim Bolger trained colt was a well beaten second on debut at Leopardstown but came into that race with a tall reputation and he may have come stuck (literally) in the testing ground that day. He has a good draw here.
The 4.10 throws up a couple of decent newcomers against the more experienced market leaders Nurpur and Angela’s Dreams who have had plenty of chances between them. The play might be a place lay on both – we’ll need just one out of the frame to show a profit.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Colour Of Love (2.40 Dundalk)
NEXT BEST: Wexford Opera (3.10 Dundalk)
PLACE LAY: Nurpur and Angela’s Dream (4.10 Dundalk)
