NAVAN: Green for go. This afternoon’s meeting at Navan goes ahead as planned after the track passed an 8am inspection.
We’re racing at Navan which is good news with two good races on the card including the Irish Form Book ‘Monksfield’ Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) at 12.55.
The Gigginstown Stud originally had three runners here but have pulled two out. However, they could still win the race with Bonisland, partnered by Davy Russell, who looks a horse with a future.
He won well over a longer trip on his hurdling debut at Down Royal – that came over a slightly longer trip on good ground but he has already proved his ability to handle heavy conditions with a bumper success at Roscommon.
At 2.25 the Troytown Handicap Chase looks as competitive as ever. A small win and place recommendation is recent Roscommon winner Orpheus Valley.
