Captain Cee Bee is holding up the big-race card with 11st 10lb, pushing half the field – 27 of them – out of the handicap, and the one that’s holding up the market, Bahrain Storm, is actually outside the limit for the race, as it stands.
I’d bet on him getting in but not on him winning. If you are combing the field now, the stats tell you to concentrate on horses ages seven to nine, from 10st 5lb to 10st 13lb.
Incredibly, there are only two as the handicap stands: Paul Flynn’s Archie Boy and the English raider, Qulinton, penalised 12lb for winning the Summer Plate at Market Rasen recently.
