5-2 NAP AND 13-1 DOUBLE: Clashnabrook (WON 5-2) landed the nap at Fairyhouse for Shamrock yesterday, and his Daq Multiples contained ‘Clash’ in a double with Vast Consumption (WON 3-1).

I’m buying money today. Bishopsfurze (2.35) is so outstanding at Clonmel for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh that only the stable second string will tango with him.

Action Master and Friendly Society are easy to back, with their respective trainers, Dessie Hughes and Michael Hourigan, notably out of form.

So it is that the unraced-outside-France Tango Banbou is second favourite for this, the two-mile Powerstown Chase.

In fact, it’s a card that’s riddled with Ruby Walsh odds-on shots, or nearly so: Edeymi (2.05) must go in the Daq Multiples, as must Are Ya Right Chief (3.40).

The Munster Hurdle (3.05) is more intriguing, though the going will suit Ruby’s ride, the mudloving Back in Focus, who tried Grade 1 at Aintree after his easy Haydock success when he beat the subsequent Albert Bartlett third, Court In Motion.

The horse that makes it interesting is Dressedtothenines, impressive though beating little or nothing here at Clonmel two weeks back, but – by Oscar our of a Gildoran mare – bred for a big future in the game.

I shall do my Daq Multiples as though it is, as it seems, a Mullins-Walsh day (again!) but – as he’s a tempting 8.0 – have a bit on Dressedtothenines. A good run will certainly mark him down as one to take out of the race.

I also fancy The Book Thief (4.10) each way at 12.5 Betdaq offers this morning, always looking in need of blinkers and finally getting them.

It is also of note that he returns to the trip of his maiden hurdle win and Point success. Each-way thief!
