STUNNING SEVEN OUT OF EIGHT NAPS UP! Following 16-lengths scorer Railway Dillon (WON 5-1) on Tuesday, Shamrock made it seven winning naps out of eight yesterday with Cousin Vinny (WON 8-11). His sequence now looks like this: 11111311.

13-2 DOUBLE: Shamrock completed yet another double, a 13-2 pairing of his nap with Ange Blanc (WON 7-2), and both his each-way bets were placed.

I’m gunning for nap number eight. And it has to Ruby Walsh’s own choice, Mazuri Cowboy, for Eoin Doyle in the maiden hurdle (3.55) at Thurles.

For some reason he’s given Willie Mullins’s Douneve the bullet which will trigger a plunge on Mazuri Cowboy but I don’t mind buying money when I’ve got the winnings from a 5-1 nap to play with.

Whatever Ruby can do, Davy Russell can do better at Thurles: he’s well clear as the track’s leading rider, so his outsider today is of particular interest.

Lockdown (2.25) has cheekpieces on for the first time and, if Davy fails you there, you should get your money back off his mount Silver Shuffle (2.55), third behind good company – Midnight Game and Joxer – in December.

The bookies won’t want to open too big about Killiney Castle (4.25): they will be wary after a decent gamble (10-1 to 3-1) went astray at Fairybouse.

No doubt connections want their money back, so I took 9.4 on Betdaq this morning, expecting the bookies to be mean or for there to be another plunge. Or both.

SHAMROCK’S BETS
NAP: Mazuri Cowboy (3.55 Thurles)
NEXT BEST: Silver Shuffle (2.55 Thurles)
EACH WAY: Lockdown (2.25 Thurles), Killiney Castle (4.25 Thurles)
DAQ DOUBLE: Silver Shuffle (2.55 Thurles) and Mazuri Cowboy (3.55 Thurles)
