ARISE, SIR SHAMROCK? HE’S ON 16.5 JEWSON GAMBLE: Shamrock can justifiably say ‘I told you so’, having bet 16.5 on Betdaq that Sir Des Champs would switch to the Jewson, for which he was as low as 7-2 with bookmakers this morning. Can he land the gamble?

SIR DES CHAMPS (1.30): My bets on the following five Festival races are the ‘overs’ I’m spending from Sir Des Champs, tipped in this column at 16.5 when expected to go for the RSA.

SERGEANT GUIB’S (2.05): Very lightly raced for this rough-and-tumble but Ruby Walsh is at the helm to keep him calm and steer him out of trouble.

RUBI LIGHT (2.40): My colleague Daqman rightly points to the rating needed to win this but doesn’t mention that, though only seven, Rubi Light has shot through the ranks to warrant 168, level peggings with Albertas Run, Poquelin and Riverside Theatre.

SO YOUNG (3.20): So young in fact, at only six, but a definite improver and, if he goes on the ground, maybe a future champion. Truth is I’m hiding my 24.0 ante-post bet on Mourad, who is now out to 60.0, as I write, Ouch!

LIFE OF A LUSO (4.00): Paddy Brennan is a great booking for this but Life Of A Luso will probably start a bigger price than Mourad!

UP THE BEAT (4.40): Start Me Up is 3-4 under Nina Carberry, Your Busy (Katie Walsh) loves a sound surface, but Up The Beat has class and can complete a big day for Willie Mullins in retaliation for the Henderson romp yesterday.
