MAKING HAY: Shamrock had one winner from two bets on Wednesday – that was his next best HAY POINT WON 5/2 in the final race at Fairyhouse. He heads to Leopardstown today.
Delight was a winning place lay for us last time out at Fairyhouse where she finished fourth of the 18 runners. Aidan O’Brien steps her up to 7f tonight in the 4.50 and I’m not convinced that will bring about a first win. I’m against her again tonight in a field where there are some nicely bred debutants.
In the 5.20, O’Brien’s Theatre should improve for his debut when he shaped with promise but Desert Of Dreams also ran well on debut at this track when second to the odds-on Forester in a race where the form is already looking quite strong.
There are two Group races on the card. In the first of them, the Ballycorus Stakes at 5.55, Alanza looks strong. She already has proven form at this level and shaped well when third on her seasonal reappearance at the Curragh.
The Ballyogan Stakes at 6.25, also a Group 3, looks really tricky and nothing stands out as a bet here.
