MAKE THE MOST OF IT: Turf racing continues today but only just. There’re inspections just about everywhere later in the week and even Wolverhampton have brought forward their all-weather card to Thursday afternoon from the evening before the arctic spell blasts in.
Folkestone has survived a morning inspection and the best bet of the day runs in the 2.50. Irish-bred Fourth Estate looks set to be another for Henderson. He looked very smart when winning two bumpers last season and was value for far more than the 3/4 length winning margin at Ayr in the second of those wins.
The 290 day absence might have been a concern but to offset that the morning trading on BETDAQ has been very positive suggesting he’s ready today. Of more significance is that this race hasn’t attracted much strength in depth and chief market rival Avoca Promise has been off the track for even longer.
Surf And Turf is slowly getting the hang of the chasing game and ran a good race when second at Leicester last time out. Owned by JP McManus, the Leicester form looks strong enough as winner Azjal went onto run a good race next time out.
