3-1 NAP WINNER SHAMROCK IS IN A ‘HURRY’ AT GOWRAN PARK: That’s A Fret (WON 3-1) was no worry at all for Shamrock at Ffos Las yesterday, landing yet another nap. Tonight he gambles on a 7.8 shot in the Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park.

Hurry up for the 7.8 Sapphire at Gowran Park. I think she’s a gem of a bet in the Hurry Harriet Stakes, little over a length behind one of the season’s stars, Banimpire, over today’s CD in the Spring and with rain coming down in her favour.

Though she’s won both her races on soft, I don’t think they’re that bothered about the ground, since the Banimpire race was a Listed on good-to-firm.

You immediately look to Group performances for the winner but Look At Me, beaten by Kirinda at the Curragh, was a long way behind Banimpire at Ascot.

Kirinda and Sapphire (6.40) are close together on form but, though Kirinda has a wide draw, Sapphire is the better value at 7.8 as I write, and I can see Gowran’s leading jockey Pat Smullen making all from stall four for Dermot Weld, who is still knocking in the winners as if Galway hadn’t finished.

Kissable is the worry. Third to Misty For Me in the Moyglare as a juvenile, she is back to the track after three weeks short of a year off.
We simply don’t know whether she’s over her problems or even whether she’s trained on. The market this morning says she has but I wouldn’t want to take a short price.

Best bets on the remainder of the card should be low numbers in the opening races but the maiden is blighted as a betting medium by the doubts about Daddy Long Legs (5.05).

The Ballydoyle colt is well entered up but refused to go in the stalls at Leopardstown last week and only exchange backers will be able to wait until she’s safely on her way before deciding to bet.

Money Spider (5.40) has the plum stall in her first handicap but 14.0 is doubly a worry. While wondering why she is so big in the betting, you feel you must have an old punt on at that price in case the cash comes later.
