2/1 WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK landed a winning NAP from his ONLY BET on Friday – Bridle Path (NAP) WON 2/1. He looks at the big races at Fairyhouse today.
Nice to get a 2/1 winning nap last night and it felt doubly sweet as I didn’t think she was going to win at ANY stage of the race and the in-play market on BETDAQ reflected that. She responded well to late pressure from Kevin Manning though to grab the spoils by a length.
Two Graded races on the Fairyhouse card today where the ground is heavy.
1:45 Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 3) (4yo, Class 1, 2m, 6 runners)
It’s hard to get away from the red hot favourite Voix Du Reve on his hurdling debut, even though we don’t know that much about him. He makes his debut for Willie Mullins having joined the stable from France where he showed plenty of ability both on the flat and over hurdles. He made virtually all the running to win over hurdles at Enghien last time out and could easily be smart enough to make a winning Irish debut at this level. A good run today could see his Triumph Hurdle price shorten further.
3:25 At The Races Bobbyjo Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m 1f, 7 runners)
Thought the value option might be the mare Baie Des Iles against rivals generally much older than her. She was a winner at Punchestown in January before returning to the track for another big run when runner-up to Bonny Kate over 3m 4f. On His Own won this in 2014 but he’s lost some zest recently. Biggest danger may come from Thyestes Handicap Chase runner-up Mala Beach.
