How will Bellshill perform after 346 days off the track?
How will Mala Beach perform after being pulled up last time?
For the former question, lengthy absences are not usually reasons to oppose Willie Mullins trained runners and this is a race that he has excelled in with five of the last seven runners.
Bellshill hasn’t been seen since finishing third to Might Bite and Whisper in last year’s dramatic RSA Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival which obviously represents top class form.
He does have to give weight away to Mala Beach who was in at the deep end last time out in the Irish Gold Cup won by Edwulf. Even allowing for the grade it was disappointing to see him run quite flat and eventually pulled up.
Preference today is for Bellshill.
