GOWRAN PARK NAP: SHAMROCK heads to Gowran Park on Saturday for his nap in the 20 runner maiden hurdle at 1.35.
The Race That Stops A County Thyestes Jan 21st 2016 Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park this afternoon looks a match, despite the big field of 20 runners.
The market is dominated by the Willie Mullins trained Stone Hard and Henry de Bromhead’s Supasundae who are both making their seasonal reappearances.
Stone Hard won his first two bumpers with ease and went in to the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival a 10/1 chance but was a real disappointment beating only three finishers home.
Today’s main rival Supasundae finished a creditable sixth in that Cheltenham race having also won his first two bumper races. He finished up with a ninth in the Punchestown Champion Bumper which was disappointing given he went off a 5/1 chance.
Both will be interesting on their jumping debuts but preference has to be for Supasundae.
