BACK TO LIMERICK AND HOPEFULLY WINNERS: SHAMROCK’s Cheltenham week never really got going and his nap Briar Hill falling yesterday ended a disappointing week.
It just wasn’t meant to be this week at Cheltenham. From four tips yesterday, three of them were fallers and the other one finished 24th of 25 runners.
As badly wounded as I was form a punting point of view it’s nothing compared to the injuries sustained by the jockeys this week and a reminder of just how dangerous a sport it can be. It does put the game into perspective. Best wishes to them all for a speedy recovery and return to the track.
I need a confidence boosting win to end the week and am looking no further than Kerrieonvic in the opener at Limerick.
He’s a short price – not surprising really when the form of his second to Don Poli at Thurles was given a time boost when Don Poli won the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham yesterday.
