ALL JUMPS CARD ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE LISTOWEL FESTIVAL: It’s an all-jumps card on the seventh and final day of Listowel today. The meeting starts at 2pm.
A non runner yesterday from the nap, which given the way it’s gone so far this week at Listowel feels like a winner 🙁
It’s the final day of the meeting – and the course will no doubt be hoping for another bumper crowd – there were nearly 27,000 in attendance yesterday.
The most interesting race for me is the Cashen Novice Hurdle at 4.20. Five of the six runners are last time out winners and three of them are unbeaten.
The Jessica Harrington trained Rae’s Creek was a winner on the flat at Ballinrobe and took really well to jumping when making a winning debut at the same course in July. He was impressive that day taking up the running early and winning by nine and a half lengths with the field well strung out behind.
Mysticaltou sprang a 66/1 shock when winning on debut at Kilbeggan and looks over-priced here but the biggest danger is likely to come from the more experienced Draco (like the selection, owned by JP), trained by Aidan O’Brien, who didn’t run badly when chasing home a Willie Mullins odds-on favourite at Galway earlier this month.
