ANOTHER SATURDAY ANOTHER WILLIE MULLINS SUCCESS STORY: SHAMROCK again relies on Willie Mullins to provide the feature race winners on both sides of the Irish Sea.
Limini will start at a very short price to win the Grade 3 Coolmore N.H. Sires Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
The Willie Mullins trained mare justified favouritism on debut at Punchestown winning a 23 runner race. She only won by half a length but in second place was Sandymount Duke who went on to win his next FOUR races. The assumption is that she will both improve for that run and appreciate the extra two furlongs and should prove very hard to beat in this better company.
Djakadam has his final prep run before another crack at the Cheltenham Gold Cup and looks to have a straightforward task in the feature there this afternoon. He certainly won’t be inconvenienced by the heavy ground (the course was waterlogged in places at 8am but passed a 10am inspection) and can prove too strong for last year’s winner Many Clouds.
