FAUGHEEN’S BACK: At Ascot today. Willie Mullins’ runner faces just six rivals on his seasonal reappearance at Ascot this afternoon.
It will come as a huge surprise if Faugheen is beaten at Ascot this afternoon but the odds tell you that.
He is unbeaten in five starts over hurdles and is the current ante-post favourite for the Champion Hurdle.
His best win of last season was without doubt in the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival where he stormed clear up the hill despite making a few errors that would have stopped inferior horses in their tracks.
However, he was equally as impressive at Punchestown when stepping back in trip for the Herald Champion Novice Hurdle which he made all to win by 12 lengths.
Mullins is just taking one step at a time saying: “This race will tell us a lot, and I’m not looking beyond that at the moment.”
Mullins should already have had at least one winner on the day before Faugheen runs. New kid on the block Tell Us More has high expectations and looks nailed on for the 1.05 at Gowran Park.
The nap, is the double, paying around 1.53 on BETDAQ MULTIPLES.
