THREE WINNING NAPS FROM FOUR FOR SHAMROCK: Is it the start on a new super naps sequence after WON 6/4, WON 11/4 2nd WON 9/10.
HEIRLOOM (NAP) WON 9/10 won well in the final race at Dundalk yesterday to land the nap. It was well backed and much shorter than the morning odds on BETDAQ.
That now makes it three winning naps from the last four:
9 July RALLY (NAP) WON 6/4
10 July THE VATICAN (NAP) WON 11/4
11 July AL DESTOOR (NAP) 2nd
12 July HEIRLOOM (NAP) WON 9/10
There’s a big Irish challenge for this afternoon’s valuable July Cup at Newmarket – a Group 1 with £283,000 to the winner.
Royal Ascot winners Gale Force Ten (Aidan O’Brien) and Sole Power (Edward Lynam) head the charge with Lynam’s other runner Slade Power not without place chances.
Gale Force Ten shows plenty of pace and is interesting that he is stepped down in distance and tries blinkers for the first time here. He looked certain to be beaten at Royal Ascot but battled on well to win the Jersey Stakes. It’s worth remembering though that was only a Group 3 and he is up against hardened sprinters at the top level this afternoon.
Sole Power may struggle over the 6f trip. The vast majority of his career he has been racing over the minimum distance. Slade Power on the other hand is proven over this trip but not at this level and he may find a few too good.
I’ll stay in Ireland for the nap. Abbakova in the Listed race at Tipperary looks a solid bet to follow up her easy course and distance win last time out.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Abbakova (4.10 Tipperary)
