EARLY SHAMROCK NAP: They race at Navan on Saturday and SHAMROCK’S NAP runs in the opening maiden hurdle at midday.
A huge field for the opening maiden hurdle on today’s Navan card but it can very quickly be whittled down to just a few serious contenders.
Preference has to go to the Jessie Harrington trained Envious Editor.
He showed promise on his bumper debut at Punchestown and was then a short head second to the odds-on Rhinestone at Naas on his hurdling debut, pulling nicely clear of the third.
He was probably flattered by the narrow winning margin as the winner won only under hands and heels but even so it was a terrific first run.
He is preferred to the Willie Mullins trained Buildmeupbuttercup who is having her first start for the yard since joining from Mick Channon for whom she won two bumpers.
