SHAMROCK HEADS TO NAVAN: Jumps racing steps up a gear at Navan on Saturday and SHAMROCK bids to follow-up his winning nap at Dundalk last night.

Afonso De Sousa landed the nap in easy fashion in the end last night. Sent off the 4/5 favourite, Afonso De Sousa found some trouble in running but powered through in the closing stages to win by three and a half lengths and repeat his success in the same race he won 12 months ago.

Jumps racing takes centre stage on Saturday with a good card at Navan.

In the opening Troytown Bar Maiden Hurdle at 2.20 the Gordon Elliott trained Tom’s Article looks the one to be on.

He has finished second in his last two races but in what looked stronger events than today. Certainly a reproduction of his course and distance second two starts ago should prove good enough.

Fearachain stayed on well to win a bumper at Listowel last time out and is interesting on his hurdling debut

Rocky Court ran his best race to date when second to Dandridge at Galway last time out and looks the biggest danger to the selection.
