SHAMROCK NOW 5 from 6 WINNING NAPS IN 2014: And the good news is that the meeting at Punchestown this afternoon goes ahead as planned following a precautionary 8am inspection.

Not Your Call (NAP) WON 4/5 kept the good run of NAPS in 2014 going with a comfortable win at Dundalk last night.

He started shorter than BETDAQ morning prices but the confidence was well-placed as he strolled home ahead of market rival Lone Star in the second race on the card.

That now makes it 5 winning naps from 6 this year !!

1 Jan LIEUTENANT COLONEL (NAP) WON EVENS
2 Jan NO BET
3 Jan THE FIRM (NAP) WON 8/15
4 Jan WICKLOW BRAVE (NAP) WON 2/5
5 Jan MOONLIGHT BOY (NAP) PULLED UP
6 Jan URANO (NAP) WON 10/11
7,8,9 Jan NO BET
10 Jan NOT YOUR CALL (NAP) WON 4/5

Punchestown officials had called an early check of conditions due to the threat of overnight frost.

Following the inspection, the course was found fit for racing, with the ground described as soft to heavy, soft in places.

The seven-race card gets under way at 12.40, with the Grade Two Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle at 2.20 featuring the Willie Mullins-trained Vautour, current ante-post favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham. He should win well but at 1.3 on BETDAQ we’re not going to get rich.

Brian Cooper has good chances in the opener and closing races.

I’ll play the nap card in the opener with Si C’etait Vrai who has already shown ability over fences and has been tried in good company. This looks relatively easier.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Si C’etait Vrai (12.40 Punchestown)
