SHAMROCK AT TIPPERARY: SHAMROCK heads to Tipperary and their mixed meeting on Saturday. Feature race is the Listed Excelebration Tipperary Stakes at 4.10pm.
It’s a mixed card at Tipperary this afternoon and my best best of the day runs in the feature race – the Listed Excelebration Tipperary Stakes at 4.10pm.
It’s a sprint over the minimum trip and I am sticking with Accepted who made a winning debut at the Curragh beating the Aidan O’Brien trained favourite Cape Clear Island by a short head.
Fit For The Job was back in third that day and gave the form a reasonable boost by finishing second last night at Navan.
Accepted is dropping back a furlong but that shouldn’t halt his progress as he showed plenty of speed at the Curragh on ground similar to which he also faces this afternoon.
His trainer Tommy Stack has him entered in the Gimcrack Stakes at York and for him to have any pretentions on that prize he will need to win this and defy his penalty.
Aidan O’Brien’s simply A Star looks the obvious danger. She has been placed twice in her last two starts and now drops back in trip to six furlongs. She was no match for Pleascach at Leopardstown earlier in the month but that winner looks quite useful.
