TRAMORE NAP: Shamrock plays his NAP card in the opener at Tramore on Saturday.
I like Lurcher in the opener at Tramore today – trading around 4.5 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.
We don’t know too much about him – but he was smart enough to make a winning debut in a bumper at Lingfield (on the all-weather) when trained by James Fanshawe. He started 9/4 favourite that day and whilst only winning by 1/2 length had a fair bit left up his sleeve and won rather cleverly.
This is a maiden hurdle that won’t take much winning and there are plenty of doubts about two in front of Lurcher in the betting.
Dougal Philips has yet to show any spark whatsover over jumps and if you support him it can only be on the basis of the better ground bringing about an improvement.
Akizari has also been disappointing over timber but showed much more when third at 33/1 last time out and is probably a bigger danger.
