SHAMROCK AT TRAMORE: The course stages a seven race flat card on Saturday. SHAMROCK’S NAP runs in the opener at 2.15.
Well Tuned, my nap, finished third yesterday behind TWO 33/1 shots.
The going remains good at Tramore and in the opener at 2.15 it’s hard to look beyond Highly Toxic from the Paul Flynn stable.
The three-year-old has comfortably achieved the most so far on the racecourse and should take advantage of this easy opening.
He’s been tried at a high level since a creditable fourth on debut at the Curragh behind Obliterator.
Most recently he was totally outclassed in the Group 3 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes won by Fascinating Rock. He finished fifth of six having started a 100/1 chance for the race.
This is many notches down the class ladder and it would come as a major surprise if he wasn’t able to lose his maiden tag. He’s a confirmed front runner so I am expecting him to make all the running.
Biggest danger may come from Sakhra who was well beaten at Navan last time but is entitled to make further improvement.
