TRAMORE ON SATURDAY: Just the one Irish card on Saturday for SHAMROCK to look at, Tramore’s flat card which starts at 4.10pm.
Fairly small fields are the order of the afternoon at Tramore for their seven race flat card which gets underway at 4.10pm.
The best bet could easily come in the opener on the card, the 1m 4f maiden.
The Andrew Oliver trained Columbanus who showed distinct promise on his debut at Galway when third to the impressive Brooch. He was beaten a shade over 10 lengths, but it was still a good effort first time up for the 20/1 chance who will find today’s trip far more within his comfort zone than the mile at Galway.
The David Wachman trained Hurricane Volta is rated the biggest danger in the betting. This one showed promise when third at both Tipperary and Navan but didn’t seem to improve for the step-up in distance at Wexford last time out when only fifth of seven.
In the closing two mile handicap at 7.25 Knight’s Parade can gain reward for his recent consistency. He was a good second at Galway over 1m 4f and is worth another try over this extended trip.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Columbanus (4.10 Tramore)
NEXT BEST: Knight’s Parade (7.25 Tramore)
