FANTASTIC FOUR NAPS IN A ROW: SHAMROCK is still four naps in a row after his race at Navan was abandoned yesterday. He pins his hopes for a five-timer on a pick at the Curragh this afternoon.
I had hoped for a winner. I was prepared for a loser. I didn’t expect an abandoned race !!!
The run of four winning naps in a row remains intact:
Tuesday: NOBLE INN (NAP) WON 5/4
Wednesday: FORMAL BID (NAP) WON 6/4
Thursday: CASTLETOWN BRIDGE (NAP) WON 3/1
Friday: HE’S NO SAINT (NAP) WON 15/8
Saturday: NON RUNNER
And there’s only been one selection each day – the nap – so it’s four from four.
We head to the Curragh today in search of nap number five.
With a run to protect forgive me for playing safe on a tricky Sunday card.
Geoffrey Chaucer should given Aidan O’Brien yet another success in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at 4.15.
It’s a race the trainer has farmed over the years and Exogenesis a morning non runner the road should be clear for Geoffrey Chaucer who made all to win a three runner event at Leopardstown on debut – only narrowly but the runner-up has gone on to win at Galway.
Geoffrey Chaucer should improve, is the preferred choice of Joseph O’Brien and is clearly held in high regard with an entry in the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket next month.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Geoffrey Chaucer (4.15 Curragh)
