THE STANDING ORDER OF AOB AND RYAN MOORE: The combination are unstoppable this season and bid for another classic success in the Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh this afternoon.
Churchill won well in the end yesterday – it didn’t look so comfortable two furlongs out but he never wins easily but that hasn’t stopped him reaching a magnificent seven wins in a row.
It’s the turn of the fillies this afternoon in the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas in which Aidan O’Brien has four of the eight runners including the red hot favourite Winter who, like Churchill, is bidding to emulate her success at Newmarket.
She got the better of better fancied stable companion Rhododendron at Newmarket and I think there can be little doubt the two length margin would have been closer if Rhododendron had enjoyed a clear run.
Winter is understandably short in the market and I prefer to take a chance on the BETDAQ place market with Aneen.
Kevin Prendergast’s runner showed plenty of promise on debut at Leopardstown and then bolted home here at the Curragh in October. This is obviously a huge step up in class but her trainer is not the sort to run just for the sake of it and it’s the perfect set up for a BETDAQ place bet with there being the ‘dead eight’ runners.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Aneen (PLACE MARKET) (3.25 Curragh)
