EASTER JUMPS FOCUS: The spotlight switches firmly back to the jumpers on Sunday with the traditional Fairyhouse card and some good jumps racing at Cork on Sunday.

Just when you start getting back into ‘flat mode’ up pop the jumpers again !!

Mind you, not complaining as the Easter card at Fairyhouse is always a treat – highlighted by the Irish Grand National on Sunday.

Feature race on today’s card is the Powers Gold Cup which has attracted just four runners. A shame that the race, worth €58k to the winner hasn’t more runners, but it does at least look competitive from a betting angle.

The BETDAQ market has the favourite at 2.44 (Ballycasey) and the outsider at 7.2 (Molzoltov) – both of those runners trained by Willie Mullins.

On balance, I think the market has it right. Ballycasey is 5lb the better horse on official ratings and can be forgiven for finishing fourth in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham, which at the time looked slightly disappointing but back in trip could be the key. He is already a Grade 1 winner over fences and can resume winning ways.

Rebel Fitz has been a prolific winner but was disappointingly beaten in a two runner affair at Cheltenham over fences before being switched back to hurdles for a win at Cork.

Mozoltov makes too many mistakes for my liking and the biggest danger may come from Bright New Dawn who bolted home at Naas last time out and could easily lead and prove tough to peg back.
