THREE GRADE 1’s: SHAMROCK looks ahead to a terrific day of racing at Fairyhouse on Sunday with three Grade 1 races on the card.

1:05 baroneracing.com Royal Bond Novice Hurdle (Grade 1)
A small but very select field. After Joseph O’Brien’s incredible day here yesterday many will be backing his runners blind today but his runner here Triplicate has plenty to find with Quick Grabim on Tipperary form. Quick Grabim went on to finish fourth to Aramon at Navan but on 7lb revised terms will be fancied to turn the tables on his stable companion.
There’s a danger lurking to all though and that’s the Gordon Elliott trained Commander Of Fleet who sauntered home on his hurdling debut at Punchestown and is now unbeaten in a point to point, bumper and hurdle race. He looks a lovely prospect and might well be good enough to repeat the stables success of last year with Mengli Khan.

This looks the race of the day for me. A fantastic renewal.
Delta Work won the Pertemps over hurdles earlier in the year and is a classy performer but I wasn’t blown away by his chasing debut at Down Royal where he had to work quite hard to land the odds in what turned out to be a bunch finish with Niven and Ben Dundee. He’ll obviously improve for the run but I don’t fancy taking too short a price in this company.
Preference is for the Joseph O’Brien trained Le Richebourg who has taken well to fencing and was impressive when winning the Grade 3 Like A Butterfly Novice Chase at Tipperary last time out.
2:40 baroneracing.com Hatton’s Grace Hurdle (Grade 1)
Apple’s Jade will be mighty hard to beat as she bids for a hat-trick in the race.
She won this by nine lengths last year and it’s hard to see third-placed Supasundae getting any closer on his seasonal start.
Apple’s Jade has the benefit of a run and looked as good as ever when landing the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan by 11 lengths.
