FAIRYHOUSE FEATURE: The Dan Moore Memorial is the feature race on Sunday’s card at Fairyhouse. Racing at Tramore today was cancelled yesterday.

The run of naps fizzled out yesterday with a disappointing effort from Union Dues who was weak in the market and ended up finishing only fifth.

Elsewhere on the Punchestown card, Min won the Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle with contemptuous ease – as his 1/7 starting price indicated he might.

Min has shortened even further for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – the opening race at the Festival.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins said after the race: “You could not ask for any more, and he’s living up to all the chat about him. He does his best work at home on better ground, so to do that on this ground is a big plus. I don’t know if he will run again before Cheltenham, probably not. He’s a very easy ride at home, but he seems to grow horns or wings on the race track. He took a hard hold today.”

The Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase is the feature race on today’s Fairyhouse card where yet again conditions will be testing.

Nearly Nama’d popped up at 40/1 to win over course and distance last time out and might be able to repeat the success off a 7lb higher mark. He’s a real mudlark.

In the opener I like the look of the appropriately named Swamp Fox to beat Tocororo in what could amount to a match. Swamp Fox made a pleasing jumping debut at Punchestown in December on heavy ground when third to Jazz Ranger and with normal improvement on that debut effort could easily be good enough to land this.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Swamp Fox (12.50 Fairyhouse)
NEXT BEST: Nearly Nama’d (2.20 Fairyhouse)
