GOWRAN PARK SUNDAY: It’s back to jumping for SHAMROCK on Sunday after the five days of Royal Ascot he’s back in Ireland at Gowran Park for their jumps card.
Hope you managed to finish Royal Ascot on the right side.
My luck was used up on the first two days – and especially on the first day with the first four winners on the card including the impressive Coventry Stakes winner War Command at 20/1.
It got progressively worse after that though 🙁
Back with the domestic action on Sunday and a jumps card at Gowran Park on predicted good (good to firm in places) ground with further showers forecast.
The opening maiden hurdle certainly has a different shape to it after the defection of the front two in the betting Mister Nibbles and Pumbaa. The race looks impossible to solve now with so many probably wanting it softer.
Zabana looks one to take on in the 3.15. He was less than impressive when winning at Sligo and might be vulnerable to a newcomer. I like Bensoon who was a winner on the flat here on good to firm ground and is solid in the BETDAQ market ahead of his jumps debut.
Monday’s meeting at Kilbeggan will go ahead as planned after the track passed an inspection.
Officials checked the track at 8am on Sunday and found it fit for action.
The going is currently good to firm with watering taking place to maintain conditions.
