It pretty much ended up being an action replay of the Racing Post Novice Chase over Christmas – the only difference being he put an extra two a half lengths between himself and stable companion Us And Them.
Voix Du Reve came down at the last but I’m pretty sure Le Richebourg had his measure at the time.
Day two today and there are some high profile non runners including four out of the Irish Gold Cup leaving a field of just six.
Delta Work is an absentee in the Grade 1 Flogas Novice Chase at 3pm but it still looks quite open.
The English raider La Bague Au Roi has won all three of her starts over fences including the Grade 1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase over Christmas and I think she will prove hard to beat with her mares allowance.
Winter Escape is also doing little wrong over fences but he his now up two levels after his wins in Grade 3 events.
