Two Irish cards on Sunday, staged on vastly different ground.
At Kilbeggan it’s good for their jumps card whilst at Listowel the ground is heavy for their flat meeting.
Putting faith in Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen hasn’t been a bad strategy so far this flat season and hopefully it will be rewarded again with Sight Hound in the 3.40 at Listowel.
The three-year-old has finished second on both starts (both of which on soft ground) and there was no disgrace in his latest second to Novis Adventus at Naas – the winner went on to finish fourth in a Group 3.
The switch to a mile (from 1m 2f) on the more testing ground may prove a perfect combination.
Love Rosie was second to impressive winner Roca Rojo (won again last week) at Killarney but was beaten seven and a half lengths so perhaps dangerous to take that form too literally.
