STELLAR CARD AT NAAS: SHAMROCK looks ahead to a fantastic Sunday card at Naas with four Group races on the card including the Group 2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at 5.00.
A fantastic afternoon of racing in store at Naas on their eight race card, expected to be run on soft ground.
Feature race is the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes – a Group 2 over a mile.
The card at Naas is dominated by Aidan O’Brien trained runners and this race is no exception.
O’Brien saddles three of the five runners and the betting obviously points to the Ryan Moore ridden Saxon Warrior as the pick of them.
The Japanese bred runner looked impressive when making a winning debut over this trip at the Curragh and could easily be up to this significant step up in class if he handles the softer ground. As a caveat the runner-up from that race hasn’t boosted the form since and DAQMAN expresses caution as to which one of the trio is the pick today.
I feel stable companion Kew Gardens has done a little bit more and prefer his chances at the prices. He won his maiden easily at Killarney on soft ground over a mile and then chased home stable companion Nelson in a Group 3 at Leopardstown on faster ground.
