SATURDAY NAP WINS EASILY: SHAMROCKS NAP and only bet on Saturday – Bel Sas won easily at Bellewstown last night.
An easy winning nap last night at Bellewstown. Bel Sas won the maiden hurdle in fine style for Willie Mullins at 8/11. It was my only bet of the day.
There’s a double dose of Irish racing on Sunday with jumping at Limerick and flat action from Naas.
I don’t mind a small field when the market is competitive and that’s very much the case in the 3.00 at Naas which is down to a three runner event in the absence of Flowerhill Nova. However, precious little separates the trio on the BETDAQ market or on official ratings.
The ground is forecast to be soft which is an important consideration and sways me towards the experienced Al Mohalhal who proved he could handle the soft surface with an excellent Group 3 runner-up to Dick Whittington in the Ballycorus Stakes.
That was his first ever experience on a testing surface and probably a career best run too.
He steps back to six furlongs however his only career win to date has come over this course and distance.
Cool Thunder was fifth in the Irish 1000 Guines to Jet Setting (beaten 13 lengths) but may have been flattered and she was a beaten favourite subsequently at Fairyhouse.
Vitello ran well in a Listed race when last seen but returns from a lengthy absence and has also not encountered ground like this.
