The obvious starting point has to be Gordon Elliott given he has trained the last four winners.
Davy Russell was onboard Mala Beach last year and this year teams up with Out Sam who comes here on the back of his win in the Cork Grand National.
He’s up 8lb, understandably, for that big race win but going back to back in races like this takes plenty of doing.
I fancy there’s one in the race to spoil the Elliott party and that’s Spiders Web who won the Ladbrokes Munster National Handicap Chase last time out and I think is still on the upgrade over fences.
The three mile trip is his perfect distance.
