NAVAN SUNDAY NAP: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the Grade 2 Fortria Chase at Navan this afternoon.
Whilst Apple’s Jade is the headline act at Navan this afternoon her price about her winning the Lismullen Hullen for the third time is prohibitive.
The other Grade 2 race of the day is the Fortria Chase and this looks set to be a fascinating battle between last season’s Cheltenham winners – Arkle hero Duc Des Genievres and A Plus Tard who won the Close Brothers Handicap.
Ballyoisin and Hardline add further interest to a contest where Duc Des Genievres has to give weight away.
However, Willie Mullins has his runners well wound up for their first efforts of the season and there is every chance that Duc Des Genievres could improve further this season but that same comment applies also to A Plus Tard who beat his market rival at Naas last season when they met in a beginners chase and that superiority could easily be confirmed here.
