Nice and easy does it for Ivan Grozny who romped home to a 12 length success in the opener at Naas yesterday.
We head to Fairyhouse on Sunday where the ground remains testing and there has been a further 6mm of rain since declaration time.
Although Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh did me a favour yesterday and I am going to oppose them in the opening maiden hurdle today with Daneking.
I prefer the chances of Le Vent D’Antan who relished the heavy ground on debut at Leopardstown winning in the style of a very good horse indeed and as a result went to the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival as joint favourite but struggled to land a blow and finished seventh to Briar Hill.
He should still be a horse to follow though and can make a winning start over hurdles. Daneking sets a fair standard. He finished third to Western Boy at Leopardstown and the runner-up, Kylestyle, has boosted the form with an east subsequent win this week at Thurles.
Willie Mullins has two runners with strong chances in the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 3) and the pair, coupled, should prove hard to beat.
Top weight Majala was a faller at Wetherby last time out but the balance of his form gives him an excellent chance in the featured Underwriting Exchange Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase (Grade A).
