PUNCHESTOWN SUNDAY NAP: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the Punchestown card on Sunday with a NAP in the final race on the card.
Well that was a new way to lose 🙁
Yesterday’s NAP Notice To Close didn’t even get as far as the first hurdle when jockey Brian Hayes still had both feet out of the irons at the off. Grrrrrrr
Punchestown race again today and feature race is the Grade 2 Liam & Valerie Brennan Memorial Florida Pearl Novice Chase at 2.50pm.
No surprise to see Battleoverdoyen as the red hot odds on favourite for this – he looked a natural on his debut over fences at Galway and his winning margin of eight lengths could easily have been doubled.
This is obviously harder but he remains an exciting prospect.
At better odds though, the nap on the card for me is the Joseph O’Brien trained Slige Dala in the 3.50, He was sent off favourite for his debut at Killarney and didn’t do a lot wrong when second to Double Talkin Jive and should improve to play a leading role here. The penny only dropped late on at Killarney and he should know plenty more about the game today.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Slige Dala (3.50 Punchestown)
