FLAT OUT: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the start of the flat season in Ireland on Sunday and bids to follow up Saturday’s winning nap (and ONLY BET) Sizing Titanium WON 8/11.

Sizing Titanium held on well to land a winning nap (and only bet) for the column on Saturday when scoring at Navan (WON 8/11).

All eyes are back on the flat today with the traditional curtain raiser from the Curragh including the competitive Tote Irish Lincolnshire at 4.55.

Best race on the card is the Lodge Park Stud EBF Fund Park Express Stakes (Fillies’ Group 3) at 3.45 which has attracted a 12 strong field.

Karl Burke sends over Odeliz who has the best official rating but although consistent last season she also had the habit of always finding one or two too good.

Three-year-olds are bidding to win this for the third successive season so the Aidan O’Brien trained Easter has to come in for consideration. She has entries for both the 1000 Guineas and Oaks and looked useful when making all to win a Leopardstown maiden last season.

The BETDAQ market will probably provide the best guide for the opening Tally Ho Stud maiden but remember Jim Bolger likes to win this – he saddled the winner in 2011, 2012 (Dawn Approach) and 2013 and his Tribal Beat looks very strong in the market this year.

In the Irish Lincolnshire I thought last year’s winner Stuccodor has solid place claims.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Easter (3.45 Curragh)
PLACE: Stuccodor (4.55 Curragh)
