Plenty of Elliott trained hot shots on today’s Clonmel card and the one that tempts me most is Theatre Wine in the opening mares maiden hurdle.
Despite the 18 runners there isn’t much strength in depth here and Theatre Wine has already shown form good enough to win this easily.
She sprung a 33/1 surprise when winning a bumper at Wexford after which she joined the Gordon Elliott stable and was only pipped a short head on her jumping debut at Roscommon in a race where the first two finished 27 lengths clear of the third horse.
The ground is better today but I am expecting her to be just as effective.
