Soft ground expected ahead of this afternoon’s seven race card at Clonmel and the best bet on the card could well be Ask Nile in the 1.50.
It’s a big field but no apparent strength in depth and Ask Nile takes a drop in class after respectable fourths at Punchestown and Leopardstown.
He was only beaten around seven lengths on both occasions and the slight drop in trip today should also be considered a positive.
Moroval has also shown ability including in bottomless ground at Limerick last time out when third and looks the danger.
In the feature Grade 3 Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle – a Grade 3 at 2.25pm – Monalee should land this for the in-form Henry de Bromhead. He was a very creditable Grade 2 second to Death Duty at Navan last time out.
