SHAMROCK LOOKS AT THE BIG HOLIDAY RACES AT LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK’s run of winning naps came to an unfortunate end on Sunday but it’s still 8 winners from the last 10.
Unfortunately the final nap before the Christmas break, Urano, slipped up coming to the final flight. Impossible to say whether he would have won – naturally a thought so – but he was very much in contention. Not a bad current run on the naps though of 8 winners from the last 10.

Time to get stuck into the start of some superb Christmas racing at Leopardstown.
1:20 Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) (3yo, Class 1, 2m, 6 runners)
This should be at the mercy of Analifet who is already favourite for the Triumph Hurdle on the back of two impressive wins at Punchestown and Fairyhouse. She looked good in both of them, and took the step-up in class in her stride at Fairyhouse last time when winning a Grade 3 by six and a half lengths. She beat stable companion Noble Inn that day who also reappears today. Clarcam, who was a further six lengths back in third is also back today.
2:55 Racing Post Novice Chase (Grade 1) (4yo+, Class 1, 2m 1f, 6 runners)
This should be another for Willie Mullins with the immensley promising Champagne Fever who was a dual Festival bumper winner earlier in his career, a winner of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and now looks like making a big name for himself over the larger obstacles. He made all to win at Punchestown on his chasing debut and by and large was good at his fences apart from an error at the second last. This of course is a big step-up in class but we already know he’s a class performer.
