DOUBLE GRADE 1: The action hots up at the Christmas Festival at Leopardstown today with two consecutive Grade 1 races.
The feast continues and I’m not talking about the Christmas turkey.
There’s a superb card to look forward to this afternoon at Leopardstown on the second day of the Christmas Festival meeting.
Two Grade 1 races and the Future Champions Novice Hurdle at 1.50pm brings together some stars of the future.
Willie Mullins has won this for the past three seasons and saddles both Sancta Simona and Aramon in search of extending that sequence. Ruby Walsh rides Aramon who was third of four in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse but the market prefers the progressive Sancta Simona who gets her mares allowance.
Triplicate finished in front of Aramon in the Royal Bond (in second) and might well be able to confirm that form. The Joseph O’Brien trained runner is a tough cookie and looks the value play in the race at around 4.1 on BETDAQ.
