SHAMROCK LANDS ANOTHER WINNING NAP: One bet. One NAP. One winner. That’s the way SHAMROCK likes it. MOONLIGHT BOY (NAP) landed the opener at Limerick yesterday at 4/5 but was trading around 2.23 on BETDAQ at the time of selection.
Moonlight Boy landed the NAP on Wednesday in a close finish to the opener at Limerick. He went off at 4/5 in the end but was around 2.23 on BETDAQ at the time of writing.
I’m returning to Limerick on Thursday – but this time it’s a flat card to look forward to.
By his own exceptional standards, Aidan O’Brien has made a very quiet start to the new season – it’s not so much his runners haven’t been winning they’ve not really got that competitive. His last two runners, for example, have finished last of three and last of six.
The only horse to have bucked the trend was Bracelet when winning the 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.
Given the stable form I think my preference has to be with Bush Pilot in the opener. The Aidan O’Brien trained The Islander is favourite after finishing a promising fifth on debut in a big field at the Curragh (beaten around 12 lengths) and is entitled to improve but Bush Pilot hails from the Dermot Weld stable who have started the new season well and showed promise in all three of his starts last season and can overcome the lack of a recent run to win this.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Bush Pilot (1.55 Limerick)
