LIMERICK NAP: SHAMROCK looks ahead to Thursday’s racing in Ireland at Leopardstown and Limerick – both courses passing morning inspections.
Great news that both Leopardstown and Limerick have got the go-ahead today.
Whilst the quality is undoubtedly on show at Leopardstown, for the nap I am heading to Limerick for Ministerforsport in the maiden hurdle at 2.45pm.
The Noel O’Neill trained runner has already shown plenty of good form between the flags and made a winning debut under Rules when winning a bumper at Gowran Park.
He proved that day he could handle testing conditions and has been well backed on BETDAQ this morning to make a winning start over hurdles.
The obvious danger is the Willie Mullins trained Epicuris – even though it’s hard to know what to expect with this one. He won two starts on testing ground on the flat in France including the Group 1 Criterium De Saint-Cloud but hasn’t been seen on course for a long time and may just need this.
At Leopardstown I’m struggling to look beyond the obvious Grade 1 double with Apple’s Jade in the Christmas Hurdle and Sizing John in the Christmas Chase.
Sizing John looked vulnerable on his seasonal reappearance in the John Durkan Memorial but emerged as good as ever.
