MULLINS AT LAST: SHAMROCK is predicting a winner for Willie Mullins as the champion trainer starts the day 0-25 at the halfway point.
It’s been a Festival to forget for Willie Mullins so far – headlined by Douvan yesterday in the Champion Chase and staggeringly (by his own exceptional standards) Mullins is 0/25 at the halfway mark.
A couple have run well without winning, notably Melon and Vroum Vroum Mag but many have performed well below par.
Mullins gets the chance to get things going early today with Yorkhill in the opening JLT Novices’ Chase.
The seven-year-old was part of the 2016 stable success story with his win in the Neptune and has progressed well to the larger obstacles this season with two wins.
He has shown a tendency to jump left but is still learning his craft and can provide the Mullins team and Ruby Walsh with a welcome tonic.
Top Notch has done well and showed he can cut it at the top over fences with a win at Sandown in the Scilly Isles and looks the biggest danger.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Yorkhill (1.30 Cheltenham)
