SHAMROCK AT PUNCHESTOWN: Our man looks forward to the third day of the Punchestown Festival on Thursday with another two Grade 1 races the highlight.

The NAP Al Boum Photo ran a big race yesterday and I was still hopeful approaching the last but he fluffed the lines and ended up being no match for Clan Des Obeaux. It’s harder to find a Willie Mullins loser this week than a winner so I need to pull my socks up!

I think the bumper makes most appeal on Thursday – and yes, it’s another Willie Mullins trained runner.

Plenty of good words flying around for Dysart Dynamo but after his impressive Clonmel debut he’s hardly an ‘under the radar’ talking horse anymore.

He couldn’t have been more impressive when beating More Than A Memory by eight and half lengths with the pair finishing a further 29 lengths clear of the third. It will be less of a test of stamina today over a slightly shorter trip and on slightly quicker ground but he can build on that success at the chief expense of BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market rival Grand Jury.

Henry De Bromhead’s runner won a PTP bumper on debut and then made a winning start here under rules when winning in heavy ground. He was really impressive but runner-up Fameaftertheglory was a beaten favourite subsequently at Ballinrobe and has just let the form down a bit.

The first of the Grade 1’s on the card is the Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle in which Flooring Porter will be hard to beat after his impressive display at Cheltenham and can complete the double for BETDAQ brand ambassador Gavin Cromwell.

The Grade 1 Ryanair Novice Chase at 6.35pm looks booked for Energumene who missed his date with Shishkin at Cheltenham due to a minor injury but he remains a fantastic prospect who is unbeaten over hurdles and fences.
