TWO OUT OF TWO FOR SHAMROCK: CARLA BIANCA (NAP) WON 13/8 and SHELL HOUSE (NEXT BEST) WON 9/10 to complete the perfect day for SHAMROCK on Wednesday.

Very pleasing results yesterday with the NAP Carla Bianca holding on strongly to win the Naas Oaks Trial and Shell House, the next best, winning the last race at Naas at 9/10.

Three from the last five naps have now won:

Saturday: Pique Sous (NAP) WON 11/4
Sunday: Adtroi (NAP) WON 7/4
Monday: Bless N’ject (NAP) lost
Tuesday: Oscar Vespasian (NAP) lost
Wednesday: Carla Bianca (NAP) WON 13/8

Just the four runners go to post in the Pride Of Tipperary Festival 2014 Handicap at 6.30 but it still looks interesting and any one of three could go off favourite looking at the early BETDAQ market.

Of the three principals the one I am least keen on is Prince Connoisseur who made a winning debut at long odds on in a very weak race at Dundalk. He hasn’t been seen since and handicappers tend to err on the side of caution when assessing first time out winners as they don’t want to be made to look foolish.

Pirita won well at Down Royal but she then flopped in handicap company for the first time at Navan when finishing last of the 10 runners.

She’s been dropped 4lb but may need more respite.

That leaves the consistent Chiclet as the bet. She was a close second at Cork last time out and could easily make all the running here tonight. The drop back to the minimum trip looks a positive strategy and she can record an overdue first win.
