THURLES NAP: Fast ground at Thurles and SHAMROCK’S nap runs in the novice hurdle at 1.35pm.
Small fields blight the Thurles card as the much needed rain stubbornly refuses to arrive.
Only 13 runners go to post for the first three races on the card, including the five runner novice hurdle at 1.35pm.
This does, however, look competitive and the starting point really has to be that Los Alamos could prove vulnerable having to give weight away.
He won a blanket finish over course and distance relishing the quicker surface and then finished a reasonable fourth in a Punchestown handicap, although did make a few jumping errors on the way round.
It’s not inconceivable that Davy Russell could be on for a hat-trick in the first three races as Mrs Lovett (12.35pm) and Alpha Des Obeaux (1.05pm) are red hot favourites. Davy’s onboard Monition here who has been a slow burning project but showed by far his best form the last day at Fairyhouse when third and should improve further from that effort to land this.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
